BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The latest report from the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency shows the number of Branch County residents who have died after testing positive for COVID-19 has risen to 30.
Five additional deaths were reported since last Friday and there have been 25 deaths in the last two months.
The latest statistics from the State of Michigan show five of the COVID-19 related deaths have taken place at the Laurel’s of Coldwater while one death has been reported at Maple Lawn Medical Care facility. They are among the nearly 2,500 skilled nursing facility deaths reported in Michigan.
In addition, 120 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Branch County over the last three days.
Branch County has now gone over 2,000 cases since the pandemic began. Monday’s report shows there have been 2,096 cases.
Hillsdale County has had 1,577 cases along with 37 deaths while St. Joseph County has had 2,368 cases and 32 deaths.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported there were 10,428 new cases reported from Sunday and Monday. The total number of Michigan residents who have been sickened by the virus now stands at 341,941 with 9,134 deaths.
