COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the first time since the 2021 season, the Coldwater Cardinal football team earned back-to-back victories as they defeated the Plainwell Trojans 28-16 at Cardinal Field on Parents Night.
It was a big night for Dayton Ennis; he had four receptions for 98 yards and three touchdowns, scoring on plays of 4, 27, and 63 yards. Quarterback Dracyn Foster was 5-of-8 passing for 116 yards, three TDs, and three interceptions. Coldwater’s other score came on a 37-yard fumble recovery by Kendall Austin.
Kayden Roby led the ground game with 7 carries for 68 yards, while Naseem Taha added 60 yards on 11 carries.
The Cardinals will take their 2-0 record into their Interstate 8 opener next Friday at Harper Creek.
