BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Union City improved to 2-0 on the season, but new Big 8 member Stockbridge didn’t make it easy. The Chargers led 26-0 at the half, but had to hold off the Panthers in the second half to bring home a 33-20 victory in the first game at the newly renovated Alumni Field. Union City visits Reading next week.
Tony Myers has his first career coaching victory under his belt as his Bronson Vikings defeated Sand Creek 26-6 at Charles Hilton Field. The Vikings improved to 1-1 overall and will travel to Stockbridge next week.
The Victory Bell’s stay in Quincy turned out to be short-lived, as Reading won the annual rivalry game 30-18. The Orioles are now 0-2 and will host Maple Valley next week.
In 8-player football, Tekonsha is still looking for their first points of the season after Camden-Frontier shut out the Indians 58-0. Tekonsha will visit Pittsford next week.
