COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Drivers on the east side of Coldwater will need to be extra alert starting this week.
After the Coldwater City Council awarded a bid of over $710,000 from Lakeland Asphalt of Battle Creek for this year’s street milling and overlay projects back in March, crews are getting to work which means drivers will have to figure on adding more time to their travels.
City Manager Keith Baker says the business corridor near Willowbrook Road will be affected.
The milling and paving project was budgeted for the 2024-25 fiscal year with funds allocated from the City’s Act 51 Major Street Fund.
Lakeland Asphalt has done other local projects for the city in the past, most recently Western Avenue from Bishop Avenue to Grand Street.
In addition, the Michigan Department of Transportation will be performing sealcoating work on the I-69 Business Loop between the Sauk River and I-69 on Wednesday and Thursday.
