COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A contract with Frank Walsh to serve as the next Branch County Administrator may come before the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session next Thursday.
After selecting him last Thursday, the Commissioners formally gave the go ahead to start the contract negotiation process with Walsh during their meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Walsh was at the Tuesday meeting and thanked the Board for their support adding he is looking forward to working with them.
If contract negotiations are successful, he will succeed the retiring Bud Norman on January 1, 2025.
Walsh previously served as the Meridian Township manager for 11 years before resigning this past April.
Four of the Commissioners voted to hire Walsh last Thursday while Commissioner Alan McClellan voted for Assistant St. Joseph County administrator Jessica Miller.
This has been a frustrating week for those who monitor and follow local government board meetings remotely.
Those who logged onto Zoom were unable to hear over five minutes of Tuesday’s Commissioners meeting due to an unknown glitch that caused the audio to drop out.
This came after someone apparently forgot to turn on the audio for Monday night’s Coldwater City Council meeting.
