COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the Board of Commissioners during their Thursday work session that the first draft of the county’s proposed 2025 general fund budget shows a deficit of about $3 million.
The first draft of the proposed budget is based on requests made by department heads during budget hearings that were held recently.
Norman said the deficit was pretty much in line with other first budget drafts in recent years.
He indicated during a power point presentation that the 2025 budget includes ARPA and Opioid Settlement funds.
Norman said the county is getting a revenue boost from property taxes and the number of solar farms.
The first draft was the first of several that will be presented to Commissioners before they are scheduled to adopt the budget in December.
