SOMMERSET TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The death of a Jonesville man whose body was found in a burnt vehicle in Hillsdale County’s Somerset Township last January is now being called a homicide by a medical examiner.
The vehicle fire that took place January 11, 2017 on Voorhies Road near Waldron Road has been determined to be an arson following an investigation by the Michigan State Police Fire Investigation Unit.
The body of 30-year-old Tyler Herendeen was discovered after the fire was put out.The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-44-ARSON.
The Michigan Arson Prevention Committee offers a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of anyone on arson-related charges.
