COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved on second and final reading their part of an agreement with Coldwater Community Schools Monday night for the sale of the property which is the current location of the Little League diamonds on Western Avenue.
After it was approved on first reading last month, the sale had to be placed on the table for 30 days since it involved city land.
The sale is contingent on voters in the Coldwater School District approving a nearly $29 million bond resolution and millage request in November.
The vote was 8-1 in favor of the sale, with council member Jim Knaack casting the only no vote.
The Coldwater Board of Education approved the agreement in April. Coldwater schools selected the Western Avenue location for a proposed 4th and 5th grade building to replace Lakeland Elementary after looking at several other locations.
