Marie A. Halstead, 77, of Reading passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Marie was born January 1, 1947 in Lansing, MI to Bramwell & Arline (Pauls) Christy. She married Billy R. Halstead, Sr. April 8, 1979 in Jackson. He preceded her in death April 1, 2016.
Marie was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She worked at various businesses in Jonesville, and was a daycare provider for many years. Marie enjoyed listening to music, playing Skip-Bo and sewing. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed going to steam engine shows.
Marie is survived by her children Doug Mann of Hillsdale, Dan (Amanda Grace) Mann of Reading, Renee Mann of Reading, her stepdaughter Robin Halstead of Montpelier, OH; her siblings Bramwell (Vicky) Christy, Jr. of Jonesville, Frances Christy-Jones of Jonesville, Pennie (Roger) Patterson of Concord; many grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her stepchildren Pam Halstead, Tim Halstead, Billy Halstead, Jr., John Halstead; her brother Paul Christy and infant siblings Jonathan and Kathleen Christy.
