BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – While there are no contested races for Branch County offices, there will be township, city and school elections on next Tuesday’s ballot.
Treasurer races will be decided in Algansee and Ovid Townships. Democrat Kelli Kaufman will face Republican Sharon Atkinson in Algansee Township while Republican Shelly AcMoody will face independent Julie Waterbury in Ovid Township.
There are four candidates vying for three seats on the Bronson City Council. Incumbents William Rinehart, Rick Johannes and Larry McConn along with challenger James Mahaffa appear on the ballot.
In Sherwood, Sheryl Watson and Traci Counterman are running for a two year term as Village President while Donisha Leonard, Mark Mosher, Casey Sybesma and Randall Wilson are running for three seats on the Village Council.
There are three contested school board races in Branch County.
Current board members Kathryn Frederick, Ronald Lanford and challenger Jim Bilsborrow are running for a pair of six year terms on the Coldwater School Board.
There are five candidates running for a pair of six year seats on the Bronson School Board. They are incumbent Brenda Kelley along with challengers Deborah Balowski, Frank Barker, Michelle Barker and Steve Wilson.
There are a pair of six year terms up for election on the Quincy School Board with three candidates running. They are incumbents Denny Taylor and Chelsea Lofton and challenger DeeDee Theresa Davenport.
