BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Seven Branch County football players have earned first team honors on the 2020 All Big Eight Conference team in a vote by the conference coaches.
Named to the first team offense were Bronson quarterback Jordan Shadix, Bronson running back Justin Blankenship, Union City running back Garrett Iobe and Quincy offensive lineman Kyler Maurer.
Receiving first team defense honors were Union City defensive lineman Wyatt King along with linebackers Kyler Economou of Quincy and Craig Tappenden of Bronson.
Branch County players named to the second team offense were Union City quarterback Brayton Mears and Quincy offensive lineman A.J. Henderson.
The second team defense included linemen Jacob Dixon of Bronson and Tyler Saterlee of Quincy. linebackers Garrett Iobe of Union City and Bronson’s Aricin Smith and defensive back Noah Houtz of Bronson.
Honorable mentions were earned by Archie Cook and Nolan Ray of Bronson; Tae’sean Bodley, Davin George and Landen Kelley of Quincy along with Phoenix Elkins and Tyler Wagley of Union City.
Jonesville tailback Garett Eggleston was named the Big 8 Conference Most Valuable Player
