BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The overnight three inch snowfall combined with freezing drizzle forced the cancellation of school throughout Branch County on Thursday.
Coldwater, Union City, Quincy and Bronson schools all shut down for the day along with St. Charles Catholic School, Pansophia Academy and the Branch ISD as the mixed precipitation turned roads into a slippery mess.
The Browne Aquatic Center also shut down for Thursday.
More lousy winter weather is in the forecast over the next several days.
The National Weather Service says single digit lows are expected for Friday morning and again on Monday morning into the middle of next week.
In addition, a system on Friday night through Sunday will bring a wintry mix of weather which may make travel hazardous with slick road surfaces.
