David Lee Kuster, 77, of Montgomery, Michigan died Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in Coldwater at the home of his daughter.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Camden Missionary Church with Pastor Dave Binkley officiating. Interment will follow at the West Woodbridge Cemetery with military honors.
Family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, February 18 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading, and again Wednesday, February 19 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
He was born to Carman and Thelma Kuster in Woodbridge Township April 15, 1947. He was a life-long resident of the Camden-Frontier area. He graduated from Camden-Frontier High School in 1965. He also attended Huntington College and Western Michigan University.
David served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. He was part of a security detail that protected meeting dignitaries. He enjoyed top secret security clearance. He married Alyn Kay Adair on February 20, 1971. She survives.
David enjoyed many friends. He attended Camden Missionary Church for many years. He loved to sing and would occasionally sing for programs. He was also a member of the Montgomery American Legion for many years. He supported their programs as he could and cooked Sunday breakfast every week for many years as well. He had a quick wit with a dry sense of humor and was well-loved wherever he went.
David’s father, Carman, was a local contractor that taught his son a trade. David began working for his father when he was fourteen. Later, he worked both locally and on high end housing in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He later specialized in finish carpentry and was known for his exceptional skill. He was an avid Euchre player and loved to play golf, especially with his children.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years and his children: Brent (Stacey) Kuster of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Corey (Renee) Kuster of Montgomery, Cozette (Scott) Hadley of Coldwater, Jenelle (Jeremy) Brenner of Litchfield, Ryan (Katrina) Kuster of Coldwater and Ashlea Kuster of Coldwater. He leaves 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Kuster is also survived by four brothers, Terry (Norma) of Montgomery, Gerry (Sally) of Lawton, Rick (Becky) of Montgomery and Steven of Osseo. He leaves many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Montgomery American Legion post #156, Hospice of Hillsdale County, or to the Family.
He is gone from us and we mourn but he has gone to glory and we rejoice.
