CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said on Saturday they have arrested a Coldwater man following an investigation into allegations of child solicitation.
56-year-old Walter Roger Ward, Junior has been charged with Accosting Children for Immoral Purposes, Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct and Using a Computer/Internet to Commit a Crime. He was taken into custody last Thursday.
According to a Sheriff’s Department news release, investigators received information regarding a man who was allegedly soliciting underage girls for the purpose of sexual assault. Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified a suspect who had arranged to meet what he believed to be an underage girl.
The Sheriff’s Department says this remains an ongoing investigation, and they are seeking any additional information regarding potential victims.
