COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – 2020 has been a year in which it seems like nothing has gone right and it looks like that will include having a white Christmas in Branch County.
Christmas is one week away and the National Weather Service long range forecast shows very little snowfall is expected through the holiday.
Saturday’s forecast is calling for a combination of snow and rain. Whatever snow falls on Saturday will likely be gone on Sunday with highs near 40.
Dry weather with highs around 40 degrees is expected for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
There is a slight chance for rain on Wednesday with highs again near 40.
The weather for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is expected to be colder with highs only in the low 20s on Christmas Day. But the current forecast is calling for no precipitation on those days.
Statistics from the National Weather Service show that over the years, there’s a 56 percent chance Coldwater will have at least one inch of snow on the ground when Christmas morning arrives.
