ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A wanted registered sex offender out of Steuben County was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service Wednesday.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says 47-year-old Tricia Lyn Benhower of Orland was apprehended on an outstanding felony warrant charging her with failure to register as a sex or violent offender and failure to register with a previous conviction.
The arrest warrant followed a Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations Benhower failed to report required information in person to the Sheriff’s Office within the lawful time period.
Benhower was located in Milgrove Township about a couple of miles south of the state line.
Following an interview with Sheriff’s detectives, Benhower was booked into the Steuben County jail and was being held on a $5,000 bond.
