COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Both the Coldwater girls basketball and girls gymnastic teams have held their post-season banquets.
In the girls basketball team awards voted on by the players, Carlee Crabtree was named the Most Valuable Player while Madison Marsh and Tyler Scheid tied for the Most Sportsmanlike Award, Izzy Foley was named the Most Improved Player, Jamie Wellet was the Best Defensive Player and Scheid earned the Leadership Award for a second straight year.
Crabtree and Malorie Rzepka were named Interstate 8 All Conference while Academic All Conference honors went to Carly Duke, Crabtree, Olivia Foley, Marsh, Samantha Rodesiler, Scheid, Emilee Smoker and Wellet.
The girls gymnastics most improved awards went to Abby Covert for vault, Claire Sheppard for uneven bars, Erica Rodgers for balance beam and Kelani Phillipp for floor exercise. Covert won the Jillian Crist Award for most improved in all around. Tara Davis was named the outstanding senior of the year while Sheppard earned the most varsity points award and Philipp was named the rookie of the year.
Sheppard, Rodgers and Davis earned Academic All-Conference honors while Rodgers and Sheppard were named All-South Central Gymnastic League All-Conference in floor exercise.
