COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Wednesday’s meeting of the Downtown Development Authority featured a discussion on snow removal and trash piling up in downtown parking lots.
Shana Grife from the Children’s Museum didn’t like the way snow was being removed from the sidewalk in front of the museum.
D.D.A. Board Member Brad Rockey said while he was satisfied with sidewalk snow removal, he was having issues with the parking lot trash.
Coldwater Main Street Director Audrey Tappenden pointed out the challenges the city faces.
It was agreed by board members a downtown maintenance sub committee would be formed to look further into the snow and garbage issues.

People who won’t or can’t afford to pay for trash removal will find a place to put it. Many just throw it in their yards or on their property. Just drive around and you will see it and it’s getting worse.
