COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 4th Ward resident gave the Coldwater City Council an earful Monday night about the smell which has been coming from the rendering plant on Jay Street for years.
April Rose said the smell from the Darling Ingredients facility is not acceptable.
Rose said she has contacted local and state officials.
She asked the City Council for assistance in the form of a local odor ordinance.
Odor complaints are typically handled as emissions issues and are filed with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
