James S. Lyke, 75, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
James was born July 16, 1949 to Russell and Ruth (Walters) Lyke in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He graduated from Ypsilanti High School with the Class of 1968.
James proudly served in the U.S. Navy. June 26, 1982, James married Nancy Page Kirk in Ann Arbor.
He worked for the City of Ann Arbor water utilities department for 30 years, retiring in 2002.
James enjoyed fishing, mowing his lawn, tree trimming, riding around the property with his dog, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife Nancy Lyke of Bronson; his children, Kristine Kirk of Fort Wayne, Shannon (Jason) Shimizu of Coldwater, and Tana Jeanne (Matthew) Trombly of Hillsdale; his grandchildren, Kes Shimizu, Hayden Shimizu, Liam Trombly, and Keira Trombly; his four siblings and two step-siblings; a special sister-in-law, Joan; his many nieces and nephews, cousins, and his dear aunt, Judy Corwin.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
