BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – While the City of Coldwater will be doing their twice-yearly fire hydrant flushing next week, the City of Bronson will be flushing fire hydrants and exercising water valves the last week of the month.
In Bronson, the flushing will begin 12:01 a.m. Monday morning April 28 for the eastern portion of the City and Tuesday morning April 29 at 12:01 a.m. for the western portion of the City. If additional time is needed, flushing will continue April 30 at 12:01 am.
Bronson officials say on occasion, the water in the areas of flushing may temporarily have a reddish/orange rusty appearance as flushing can disturb iron sediment in the water pipes and cause the discoloration. If that occurs, run your cold water at the tap closest to your water meter for several minutes to clear your lines.
Hydrant flushing in the City of Coldwater is scheduled April 21-25.
