COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Services for victims of domestic and sexual violence received a big boost Saturday, with over $68,000 raised at the 15th annual Walk A Mike In Their Shoes in Coldwater.
The event sponsored by the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence featured dozens of men, some in high heel shoes, and others from the community walking throughout downtown to raise funds and awareness.
South Monroe Street was filled with booths from organizations that provide support services in the community. There were also games for kids, a pancake breakfast, and a 5K run with almost 100 people participants.
The winner for the pancake relay contest was the Coldwater Police and Fire Department, beating out teams from The Noon Club, St, Marks Episcopal Church, and the Michigan State Police.
