MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – A suspect is in custody, after Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall was locked down for about two and a half hours Tuesday following a phoned-in threat.
A spokesman for Oaklawn said a threatening phone call was received about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the lockdown going into affect around 11:00 a.m. Marshall Police than began their investigation.
The lockdown was lifted around 1:20 p.m. and police reportedly took a suspect into custody. No other details on the suspect were immediately available.
The Oaklawn emergency room was open during the lockdown and patient lists were posted at doors so those who had scheduled services could enter, as could employees. People were searched when entering the building.
The lockdown only affected the main hospital campus at 200 North Madison Street.
Marshall Public Schools also were on lockdown for a time after the threat was received at the hospital.
