COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -The Coldwater City Council will be asked Monday night to award a bid of just over $311,000 to Carpenter/Vortex of Florida for the construction of a splash park in Heritage Park.
The splash park would be built at the site of the former outdoor pool which was taken out last summer.
Interim City Manager Keith Baker said in his report to the Council that four bids were received on December 9th. The recommendation to award the bid to Carpenter/Vortex was based on the bid amount, project scoring, a consultant recommendation and interviews.
The splash park is partially being funded by a $100,000 grant from the Michigan D.N.R. and $75,000 donations from the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club and the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club.
Also on Monday’s agenda will be the sale of two vacant properties in the 100 block of Branch Avenue. The Council will also consider a lease agreement for agricultural use of city owned property at Western and State Street.
