BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – One man was arrested while another remains at large and is said to be armed after a pickup truck was stolen Thursday and later recovered.
Michigan State Police say a red 1995 Chevrolet pickup was reported stolen from a residential driveway in the 800 Block of Gilead Shores Drive at about 6:00 a.m.
A witness reported just after 4:00pm that two suspects driving a pickup truck were stealing gasoline from a residence near Southern and Angola Roads.
The witness called 911, and followed the suspects south towards Indiana before losing sight of them. The suspect vehicle was located at the BP Station on North Baker Road just south of the state line.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department arrested 23-year-old Seth Danning at the scene for a felony parole violation warrant from Indiana. Danning was lodged in the Steuben County Jail. Additional charges are under review.
A loaded .22 rifle was recovered from the stolen pickup truck. The Michigan State Police are seeking the suspect driver, 23-year-old Aaron Robert Loffer of Angola in connection with this crime, as well as numerous other area vehicle and firearms thefts.
Loffer is currently at large with several felony warrants from Indiana and is expected to be armed.
