COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An Indiana woman has been charged after she allegedly struck and seriously injured a bicyclist in Branch County’s Algansee Township July 23, 2016.
40-year-old Marti Charlene Oberdier is facing charges of OUIL Causing Serious Injury, Failure to Stop and Identify and Child Endangerment Occupant under 16.
Bond during Oberdier’s arraignment in Branch County District Court Thursday was set at $100,000.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office said last July that she was driving a jeep on Fishers Road near Stringtown Road and struck a bicycle driven by 44-year-old Scott Elliot of Adrian.
Elliot was flown from the scene by AirCare to Bronson Hospital with what were described as life threatening injuries.
The jeep was eventually stopped as it was heading south on I-69 south of U.S. 20 by Angola Police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.
