HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Members of the public will join various police agencies on Friday morning as the search continues for a missing nine year old boy.
Jace Landon Lyon was last seen getting off his school bus at his home on East Moore Road just north of the Hillsdale College campus Wednesday afternoon.
The last contact with him was a voicemail he left on his mother’s cell phone Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. She reported him as missing at about 9:00 p.m. after coming home from work.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says anyone who wants to help in the search should meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Field of Dreams on North Hillsdale Road between Montgomery Street and Moore Road. You are being asked to wear bright clothing and dress for the weather. That includes wearing the proper footwear for muddy conditions. Car pool if possible. The search party will consist of adults only, no children will be allowed.
The youngster is described as being four-feet two-inches tall who weighs 55 pounds. He had light brown hair, brown eyes and was possibly wearing a bright blue coat with bright yellow on the front. He has a scar and bald spot on the left side of his head.
Foul play is not suspected in the disappearance.
