CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A teenager from Constantine, Michigan was booked on numerous charges at the St. Joseph County Jail Wednesday after leading police on a high speed chase.
St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Deputies say they tried to pull over a car for a speeding infraction on Riverside Drive near Mann Road in Mottville Township. But the 18 year old driver took off. The suspect eventually drove into a field and then damaged the yards of several nearby residences.
The teen then became hung up on several small trees and tried to make a run for it. He was found by a police K9 hiding behind a residence on Oxbow Lane.
The suspect was determined to have a suspended license and outstanding warrants.
He was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding police, resisting police, destruction of property and driving with a suspended license.
Deputies were assisted by Constantine Police and the Michigan State Police.
