COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- Branch County just missed tying a record low temperature for June 1st this morning. The National Weather Service says The Branch County Memorial Airport recorded a low temperature of 35.6 degrees at 6:55 a.m., the record low on this date is 34 degrees, that record low temperature on June 1st has been recorded three times in history with the last being in 1966.
There were a number of locations that reported a low temperature of 34 this morning but the official records are kept through the reporting station at the airport. Either way it was a cold start to the month of June when the average low for today is 55 degrees.
By Tuesday temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 80’s.
