UNDATED (WTVB) – Of the nineteen individuals and six relay teams from Branch County that qualified for the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Track and Field Finals, ten individuals and two relay teams came back with medals Saturday and received All-State recognition after finishing in the the top eight in their respective events.

Division 2 LP Finals at Hamilton

Coldwater’s girls track team brought home five medals from the Division 2 Finals at Hamilton. Ella Grabowski finished third in the long jump. Grace Huff and Gwen Eby were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 800m. Elli Foley finished her high school track career with a seventh place finish in the discus, and Marie Powers was eighth in the shot put.

For the Cardinal boys, Jackson Reilly placed fourth in the shot put, and the team of Dayne Knapp, Kaden Lewis, Evan Lewis, and Naseem Taha finished eighth in the 4x100m relay.

Brianna Barle won the girls adaptive 100m and 200m races.

Division 3 LP Finals at Kent City

At the Division 3 Finals at Kent City, two Quincy athletes brought home two medals apiece. For the Lady Orioles, Brookelyn Parker placed third in both the 100m and 300m hurdle races. On the boys side, Noah Rufenacht was fourth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump. In addition, Corey Turner finished eighth in the pole vault.

For Union City, the team of Cohen Burdick, Jason Shoop, Malachi Payne, and Ben Gautsche placed sixth in the boys 4x800m relay.
