COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man will spend between 2-10 years in prison after reaching a plea agreement with Branch County prosecutors on child pornography charges.
43 year old Christopher Howell was originally charged with multiple counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material in November of last year.
Prosecutor Zach Stempien says, his office found that a plea to the most serious offense the Defendant was charged with, and could be charged with, to be appropriate based upon the Defendant’s history and the facts of this case. Further, the people found that a guaranteed prison sentence of at least 2 years was an appropriate resolution of this matter based upon the sentencing guidelines and Michigan law.
Howell must also register as a sex offender.

Is it true that “aggravated child pornography” means that the quality of the type of child pornography he was engaging in included sexually violent behaviors towards the children in the videos he was watching? If so, what is being done to help find and rescue these children? Goes to show that watching pornography is NOT a victimless crime!
