COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a bid of just over $2.5 million Wednesday night from R. Yoder Construction of Nappanee, Indiana for the first phase of the Water Resource Recovery Facility renovation and expansion project.
The work is being performed in order to increase the capacity and efficiency of the treatment plant which handles 3.25 million gallons per day.
Facility Manager Jon Foley says Phase One will consist of replacing outdated equipment and processes that affect the overall efficiency of the plant.
It will include the replacement of two 8,000-gallon storage tanks, two new discharge points and one new pump.
Two bids were submitted for the work. The Yoder bid was about $116,000 less than a bid submitted from Allied Mechanical Services of Kalamazoo.
