COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- More details have been released on the new contract for Branch County 911 dispatchers that was accepted Thursday by The Board of Commissioners. The agreement with the Police Officers Association of Michigan will raise wages to become more competitive with other agencies.
Under the new agreement starting pay for a new dispatcher on day one would be $21.50 per hour, that’s $2.02 more than the current starting wage of $19.48, after 6 months the wage would bump up to $21.92 per hour and after a 1 year of employment a dispatcher would make $22.44 per hour. All other dispatchers would receive a pay bump of a little more than $2.00 an hour under the new agreement for example a dispatcher with 5 years service will see a raise from $24.36 to $26.63 per hour. The new pay scale will take effect on July 1st. The new agreement also calls for time and half pay on holidays and any hours worked over 80 hours in a pay period.
Also under the agreement all dispatchers would see a 3% raise in each of the last two years of the contract.

Amazing. I called to have a wellness check on my son. They refused. Surprise! My kid is now missing and not accounted for. Great job. Really deserve a raise.
