BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A pursuit that started near Orland, Indiana ended with the arrest of the suspect driver in southwestern Branch County Tuesday afternoon.
The pursuit went into LaGrange County before winding up in Branch County.
Michigan State Police and the Branch County Sheriff’s Department both assisted in the search for the suspect after he had gotten out of the vehicle. According to the Branch County 911 dispatch log, police were called to the area of Greenfield and Whipple Roads.
A State Police K-9 unit was brought to assist in the search which took place at around 3:00 p.m..
Orland Town Marshall Kenny Steele says the driver being pursued was wanted on a warrant out of Hillsdale County.
The driver was seen throwing objects out of his vehicle. At one point, the Bronson Fire Department was dispatched for a hazardous material cleanup to the area of Orland and Cranson Roads because it was feared one of the objects was a methamphetamine lab. But Steele said none of the objects tossed out of the vehicle were drug related.
