COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Association of Realtors® (BCAR) recently celebrated their 60th anniversary at their annual Christmas Party/Benefit Auction held at The Broadway Grille in Coldwater.
State Representative Eric Leutheuser administered the “Oath of Office” to the newly elected Board of Directors. New board members are: President Debbie Lounds-Bowers, Vice President Brian George, Treasurer Carri Foley, Secretary Sherry Haylett, Directors Jill Bowers, Jim Drews, Karmen Case, Angie Marsh, and Affiliate Director Josh Jones.
Letha VanBlarcom was honored for 35 Years in Real Estate, along with Diana Socci (20 Years), Nick Longstreet, Mike Thompson and Steve Burns (15 Years) and Corey Donner (5 Years).
President Debbie Lounds-Bowers recognized departing Board Directors Joi Luckadoo-Villa, Bruce Hauska and Affiliate Director Lucy Lamson for their contributions to the BCAR during their tenure on the board.
The “President’s Award” was given to Sharon Atkinson for her involvement and support over the past year. Devon Title was awarded the “2018 Affiliate of the Year”. The “2018 REALTOR® of the Year” award was presented to Angie Marsh of Real Estate Elite Team.
Guest speaker Sheila Taylor, President of The Foster Closet of Branch County, explained the need and benefit of providing foster children new clothing from the Foster Closet. The evening consisted of live and silent auctions, raffles and live music by Jacob Mayer, which was provided by Branch County Community Foundation.
The enthusiastic bidding resulted in a record-breaking year, with the proceeds going to local charities including the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center, Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence “Backpack Buddies” and The Foster Closet of Branch County.
