Residents asked not to dump tires during October 11 Branch County scrap tire collection

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County will once again host a scrap tire event on Saturday, October 11 near the County Jail.

Building and Grounds Manager Scott Walls will be managing the event which will run that day from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m..

The free event is only for Branch County residents.

He told Branch County Commissioners during their Thursday work session that up to ten passenger vehicle and pickup tires will be accepted per vehicle. Semi and tractor tires will not be taken.

County officials are asking residents not to dump tires in the general area of the collection site like what has been happening in recent years.

Unloading and dumping tires on public ground outside of the designated drop off times can be cited and will be considered illegal dumping under state law.

The area is covered by around the clock surveillance cameras.
