CASSOPOLIS, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings moved to 2-1 in the Southwest 10 Conference and 3-1 overall as they won 69-28 on Friday night at Cassopolis.
To the best of our knowleged, it’s the most points ever scored in one game by a Bronson football team. On line records go back to 1950.
The two teams combined for 34 points in the opening quarter. Bronson took a 13-0 lead on a Reid Stukey eight yard touchdown and a 20 yard pass from Spencer Losinski to Dalton Hoard.
Losinski found Hoard again from 45 yards out which came in between a pair of Lucas Williams touchdown passes for the Rangers.
Bronson took a 34-14 halftime lead thanks a pair of rushing touchdowns in the second quarter from Ben Stevens (10 yards) and from Drew McConn (nine yards).
Williams rushed for a 20 yard touchdown early in the third quarter to cut the Bronson lead to 34-20. But Aiden Whitaker provided the dagger as he returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown.
The two point conversion put Bronson ahead 42-20 and the Vikings were never seriously threatened for the rest of the night.
Stevens and Hoard added third quarter touchdowns for Bronson while the defense tacked on a safety.
The Vikings got two more scores in the final period as the only thing that stopped the Bronson offense was when the scoreboard clock ran out.
Bronson is back home next Friday to host Centreville.
