BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal girls volleyball team fell to 12-8-2 overall and 0-3 in the Interstate 8 after dropping a tough three-set decision at Pennfield, 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.
Aubrey Gebbink had 11 kills and 2 service aces, Mya Porter had 10 kills and 13 digs, and Marie Powers had 6 kills and 4 blocks. Setter Brooklyn Closson had 31 assists to go with 4 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 aces, and Maren DeBeau added 13 digs.
Coldwater will compete at the Lakeview Invitational Saturday.
The Coldwater junior varsity team lost to Pennfield 25-13 and 25-17. The JV team is now 0-3 in conference play.
