CLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Nearly $10,000 was raised for the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Cancer Center from Purple Week activities during the week of October 1, 2018 at Coldwater High School.
A check was presented in the high school gym lobby Friday morning.
Athletes in all of the high school fall sports took part in Purple Week.
The final numbers showed that 153 jerseys were sold to community members who bought the purple attire for the athletes to wear during their events. Many of the jerseys had the names of people on them who have battled cancer. Those jerseys were presented to the donors after the games.
Money was also raised through bake sales, a can drive, a basket raffle, Chuck a Duck and a bleacher run.
Over $1,500 was raised during a Community Tailgate sponsored by the Athletic Boosters before the Coldwater varsity football game against Parma Western.
