BROOKLYN, MI (WTVB) – Michigan International Speedway welcomed over 2,000 cross country runners Saturday for the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals. Branch County was represented at MIS by three individuals and one team.
The Bronson Vikings finished 20th out of 28 teams in the Division 3 girls race with 478 points, while Ashlynn Harris earned a medal and All-State recognition with her 30th place individual finish. Also contributing to the team score were Alonna Goodsell (69th), Miriam Sanchez (179th), Piper Grigsby (187th), and Adelynn Cosby (214th). Lydia Wells (219th) and Elizabeth Ortiz (235th) also ran for the Purple and Gold.
Among the individuals, Union City’s Allison Gautsche finished 164th in the Division 3 girls race, her brother Ben Gautsche was 72nd in the Division 3 boys race, and Quincy’s Hunter Walker finished 113th among Division 3 boys.
