COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With the official Veterans Day holiday a week from today, a number of events in the area are leading up to the actual observance.
Jefferson Elementary in Coldwater will be hosting veterans for their annual Veterans Day program this Friday, November 7 at 8:45 a.m. The event includes the raising of the flag, a light breakfast, recognition of veterans, and a program to follow.
Jefferson Elementary is at 15 Vans Avenue, Coldwater.
The Burnside Senior Center in Coldwater is hosting their annual Veterans Program Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. with free lunch for the first 100 veterans. The guest speaker will be U.S. Army veteran Tom Frederick with a program on “Flags of Our Country.” RSVP by call the Burnside Center at (517)279-6565.

Coldwater Elks Lodge #1023 will host a free dinner for all veterans Monday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m. The lodge is located at the corner of Division and Pearl streets.
Meanwhile, the Branch Area Marine League will host a 250th birthday celebration for the Marine Corps this Saturday, November 8 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Quincy American Legion. The guest speaker will be Dean Wetzel, Constitution Relations Specialist, Office of Congressman Tim Walberg.
All veterans from any service and the general public are welcome. The cost for the meal is $35.00
