EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Centreville Bulldogs have advanced to the MHSAA Division Eight football finals as their opponent in the semifinals has been forced to forfeit.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to face Clarkston Everest Collegiate Friday night at the Legacy Sports Center in Brighton but the Clarkston squad was forced to drop out Thursday because of a positive COVID-19 test.
Centreville is now 10-0. The Bulldogs will play in their first state football championship game ever next Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Ford Field in Detroit against either Ubly or Johannesburg-Lewiston.
Meanwhile, Constantine will face Clinton Saturday afternoon at Tecumseh in the Division Six semifinals. Both teams are 9-1. The winner plays either Grayling or Montague in next week’s state finals.
