COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County officials were forced to shut down a portion of the northbound lanes of I-69 overnight after light snow began mixing with freezing drizzle causing a section of the interstate near the Kinderhook exit to become treacherous.
Branch County Central Dispatch says multiple slide offs were reported in that area around 9:00 p.m. prompting officials to shut the road down to clear the vehicles and allow the Branch County Road Commission to apply salt treatments. The road was reopened to traffic later in the evening.
There were nonconfirmed reports of a least one roll over accident with injuries and another of a tow truck bring struck while pulling a vehicle from the ditch.
No serious injuries were reported in last night’s chain of events.
