COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The CBPU Board of Directors approved a sanitary sewer repair project request on Wednesday night.
They approved a bid of over $309,000 from BLD Services of Louisiana after Fishbeck engineering identified a source of water infiltration in the sanitary system. The approved bid from BLD Services was the lowest one of the three submitted.
Fishbeck recommended lining about 2,700 feet of sanitary sewer pipe with a process known as Cured-In-Place Pipe in the area of East Washington Street, Park Avenue and Elm Street.
The process prevents the ground from being dug up. A robot camera shows crews where the sewer line needs to be cleaned out.

Water and Sewer Manager Bryan Massey said in his memo to the board that lining the pipes extends their life by about 50 years and also rids the sanitary system of significant water infiltration.
