COLDWATER, MI — Coldwater is set to burst with holiday spirit today and Saturday, as the community gathers for the annual “Hometown Holiday” weekend. The two-day celebration features a variety of family-friendly events, including theatrical performances, train rides with Santa, and the traditional Christmas parade.
Weekend Event Highlights:Friday:
– Start the day with sensory play at the Branch District Library
at 10 a.m..
– Enjoy late-night shopping, hot chocolate, and drink specials downtown.
– The Branch County Community Theatre presents its 3rd Annual Community Christmas Extravaganza at the Tibbits Opera House at 7 p.m., featuring local musical performances. A pre-show begins at 5:30 p.m..
Saturday:
-Take a festive round-trip Christmas Express train ride with Santa on the Little River Railroad at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m..
– Experience The Wizards of Winter’s holiday rock opera at the Tibbits Opera House at 3 p.m..
– Attend a fresh wreath workshop at Glo Studio from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m..
The annual Christmas Parade, with a “Winter Wonderland” theme, steps off downtown at 7:30 p.m., preceded by the “Lights of Love” Tree Lighting ceremony.

Also tonight Quincy will celebrate the season with “Quincy Lights” that will kick off with a Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. followed by a full night of Holiday activities.
Market 1858 will transform into a Christmas hub, hosting a variety of activities.
The main attraction for youngsters will undoubtedly be the opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the gazebo in Market 1858.
The celebration will extend throughout the Village with local businesses and organizations offering an array of holiday cheer including treats, crafts and writing letters to Santa.
