QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Quincy has announce that the outdoor ice skating rink at the Village Park is now ready to open for the winter season, offering a free recreational activity for families and residents.
The street department recently completed the task of getting the rink ready, and it is now available for public enjoyment, weather permitting.
The rink’s operation is entirely dependent on cold weather, as it utilizes natural ice that needs freezing temperatures to be safe for skating. The Village does ask all users to be respectful of the facility to prevent vandalism, which would force the rink to shut down.
Key details for visitors:
– The rink is located at the Village Park, next to the bathrooms.
– Skating is free, and a limited selection of ice skate sizes is available for use at no charge. Skaters are asked to return the skates after use.
-The rink is open as long as weather conditions allow for safe ice.
– Because the rink is natural ice, if the weather is not cold enough for the water to freeze, the rink will be temporarily closed.
Village officials say the rink provides a wonderful, old-fashioned winter activity, bringing back memories for many residents and creating new ones for families.

Looks beautiful. How deep is the water?
