BRONSON, MI (WTVB) -Recent snowfall and icy conditions in Bronson have created hazardous situations for pedestrians, particularly students walking to school.
Many sidewalks remain uncleared, forcing walkers—including children—into the street to avoid obstacles, significantly increasing the risk of accidents and injuries from traffic.
City officials are reminding property owners of their legal responsibility under Section 34(A) of the City Charter, which requires them to keep sidewalks in front of their homes or businesses free and clear of snow and ice.
By promptly shoveling and maintaining these walkways, residents help ensure safe, accessible paths for everyone in the community.
Officials emphasize that doing your part not only protects neighbors and students but also keeps Bronson walkable and neighborly during winter weather.
