SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man was arrested following a high-speed police pursuit in Sherwood Township on Saturday night.
According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began at approximately 9:07 p.m. when Branch County Sheriff’s deputies attempted a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation and a missing license plate. Rather than complying, the male driver fled from the deputies, initiating a chase through the township.
The chase ended when the suspect tried to drive through a snow-covered field in Union Township and came to a stop, the suspect was then taken into custody, a female passenger was briefly detained before being released.
Upon further investigation, deputies discovered narcotics in the vehicle that the man had an active outstanding warrant for his arrest from another county.
The driver now faces multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, as well as drug-related offenses.
