BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has issued a warning to residents after a pump failure at the Walker Street Liftstation occurred just three weeks after installation.
Officials stated the pump burned up due to an accumulation of wipes, which do not dissolve like toilet paper and snag on roots and debris in the sewer system.
This failure follows a previous repair costing over $13,000, with the cost of the current incident yet to be determined.
To protect infrastructure and prevent backups, the city advises flushing only toilet paper and disposing of wipes, paper towels, and feminine products in the trash, as even “flushable” items are not safe for the sewer system.

As much at these things cost you would think they would make them more durable. Maybe look for a different company to repair / replace .
It ought to be illegal to market anything but toilet paper as “flushable”.
Also would be nice to find a way to figure out where the garbage is coming from and send them the bill. Rate payers as a whole shouldn’t have to pay for the ignorance of a few.
Get ready to spend some more money that’s going to be happening again. By the way was there any reason why there wasn’t a trip off switch for high amp or low discharge pressure to protect the pump and motor
