BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles boys basketball team avenged a loss to the Bronson Vikings that took place just before Christmas on Tuesday night as they defeated the Vikings 70-50 in a Big 8 Conference game.
The two teams split their regular season games in conference play with the road team winning both times.
After jumping out to a 18-11 lead after the first quarter, the Orioles used a 25-9 second period to take a commanding 43-20 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Quincy built the lead up to 28 points at 48-20 before the Vikings started a third quarter comeback. They scored the last 10 points of the quarter to cut Quincy’s lead down to 51-39.
But Bronson could get no closer than 12 points for the rest of the game.
Quincy’s Braylon Estlow was on fire as he drilled seven triples to finish with a game-high 30 points. Alex Dunn added 19 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shots.
Owen Losinski led the Vikings with 16 points while Zeb Olson had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams are now 5-6 in the Big 8. Quincy improved to 10-8 overall while Bronson dropped to 8-11.
Bronson won the J.V. game over Quincy 55-48.
